Canciones sin DRM para vender más
Lo comentan en un buen montón de blogs, Versvs, Andy y lo tenemos en los medios como 20 Minutos: Virgin y FNAC van a quitar el DRM que añaden a 350.000 canciones de las que tienen en catálogo para aumentar las ventas en su página online en Francia (Fnacmusic.fr). Eliminar restricciones para vender más, lo cual tiene todo el sentido, una canción sin DRM se compra, pagar por una canción con DRM no es comprar, es adquirir algunos derechos para escucharla según las circunstancias que impone la discográfica. En el catálogo de Virgin tenemos grupos tan estimulantes como Bloc Party o Morcheeba y compositores de la fama de Morricone.
Ya comentamos por aquí nuestro pronóstico-deseo de que 2007 fuese el año del comienzo del fin del DRM, y este es el primero de los movimientos que vamos a ver - seguro - en este sentido. Eso sí, que haya movimientos como este de divorciarse del DRM para aumentar las ventas no significa que a los reyes de las soluciones cerradas les vaya mal (Apple bate records de ganancias), pero es que precisamente planteamientos como el de la compañía de la manzana empujan al resto a apostar por soluciones abiertas e interoperables.
